Honeycutt Family Vacation Part 2 of 3

Most vacation destinations offer a horseback ride, and I always ask Drew to do a ride with me. Yes, the horses are boring and you have to basically ride nose-to-tail, but it offers a change of scenery and is absolutely worth the $$. This one I will never forget. I secretly wanted to be paired up with the pretty buckskin horse that I saw in the corral when we got there. My wish was granted.......and within 30 seconds of the little gal handing me the reins to "Buckwheat", he wheeled around and bit the CRAP out of my chest. I ran my hand down his neck, standing at his side, and the ill mannered thing didn't like it. It happened so fast, and my natural reaction was my hand coming up to pop him on the nose as soon as it happened. He flung his head up and caused a mini scene. I'm sure I had a crazy look on my face when I turned to Drew (who did not see it happen). The first half of the ride, I was in disbelief and unbelievable pain. I wish it wasn't inappropriate to post the photos of the bruising that ensued for days afterward. It was impressive to say the least.

Thankfully, Buckwheat offered a nice ride and gave me zero problems. Beautiful trails and crossings made for a successful experience.

Cooper took advantage of Pa's willingness to read any book he wanted.

Shiloh and I got a run in one evening.

One day of the trip was spent putting a lot of miles on the rental car. We wanted to circle around to a couple other areas of Glacier, en route to Canada. They did not disappoint in beauty.

First up was the Two Medicine area.

Then we had lunch in the Many Glacier area.

see tiny Shiloh in the pink shirt?

Here, we jump back to the previous day with my real camera pictures. It's too much of a pain to delete and re-add them in the correct order, so bare with me. These pics are post-horseback ride when we did the hike to Hidden Lake that started at the Logan Pass visitor's center. It was something like 40-50 degrees up there, while still 70 back, down below in town. It was awesome, but I wonder how different it would have looked without the clouds covering the mountain peaks.

at least the way back was mostly downhill

These pics show the beginning of our day drive to Canada.

Two Medicine Lake, in all it's glory.

Sherry got dropped off at Many Glacier to take pics while we turned around.

And a couple more from our hike.

Here's a good visual of the park and all these places that I'm mentioning:
