June 2016
Raising all the trusses was QUITE a project, requiring a lot of man power
The pictures don't show the makeshift stairs well that went along with this message.....
Lighting!!
SO MUCH RAIN in June.....the boys loved it.
July 2016 - so much finishing work!
the elk wall, pre-rock |
one of the building crew brought these for me one day |
cabinet & countertop color decisions on a sink that ended up getting exchanged for another color!! |
Instead of buying a chimney pot in a terra cotta color, we were lucky to have a friend and local pottery maker build the top of our outdoor fireplace. He brought it out in pieces and they assembled it on top.
Kitchen cabinets coming together!
these are the faces of our tall pantry cabinets - I remember thinking they were WAY too big! |
The only paint color I wasn't happy with was the master suite. So in came more samples....
And those got narrowed down to 3.....
Ahhhh....much better color than the "greige" which was actually pinkish-purple
Here's a couple good shots of the old color vs the new:
I miss getting these photos from Eric throughout the day |
August 2016
Gillett putting the yard together and finishing dirt work!
Getting a driveway was magical!
I found a range hood on pinterest/etsy that I liked, so Eric built our own version for us!
kitchen island in process |
many thanks to this guy!! |
actual countertop we ended up choosing |
choosing backsplash |
mudroom cubbies |
Another really cool element, sliding barn doors fabricated from actual barn wood from the family farm (same for the range hood).
I bought this vanity and repainted it for the master bath.
it's not Sonic ice, but the ice machine makes some pretty cute little squares |
finally, the front porch stamped concrete was pressure washed and pretty again |
The powder room was another Pinterest idea made reality. Drew picked up the barrel in Omaha on the way back from trip north, and Eric converted it into a sink.
.....Fall wrap up coming soon......
