My first job when I moved to college was at Lowes. I met some of my favorite people there. Nicole and I were in the same orientation class. I knew that Drew and Josh would get along as soon as I got to know Josh, but Drew of course "didn't want to make any new friends". Lo and behold......Nicole and Josh fell in love, Nicole and I lived together, we all became close friends, both Josh and Nicole were in our wedding, and here we are 10 years and 3 combined children later.
One person that Josh, Nicole, and I were very close with is the other guy in the photo below. Kelly worked with us until he graduated from Missouri State and joined the Army. We all kept in touch and sent him many letters/cards/packages during his training and 1st deployment in Iraq. I will never forget the look on his face when Nicole and I surprised him at the airport after 15 months being gone! This is the kind of guy that would change out of his uniform at his first opportunity en route home, just so he wouldn't draw attention to himself as he traveled.
He ended up getting deployed again, marrying a girl he met while stationed in Texas, and sadly, we grew more distant over the years....not really hearing from him. After tireless efforts to see him, we FINALLY made it happen. It really felt like old times.
