We left the house around 4:30pm on Saturday to make our way to Estes Park to meet Drew's grandparents, parents, and Aunt Sherry. I knew Griffin would be a piece of cake to travel with (he's been to the Dakotas, days in the car around Yellowstone/Tetons, and all the way to Arizona and back) but I wasn't sure how little Cooper baby would do. There were a couple unplanned stops, but we actually made it to Salina, Kansas before stopping for the night! That left about 7 hours for today and the boys handled it like pros. I really wouldn't be afraid to drive them anywhere.
We've settled in, had a nice dinner, and the boys were in bed without a fuss. Cooper was worn out and Griffin is coping with a little altitude sickness we think. He started complaining of a headache and felt warm to the touch.....same as when we went to Yellowstone. Let's hope he doesn't start throwing up!
We have no set plans for the week, I'm so looking forward to it.
Just thought I'd get a head start on posting. If I'm able to keep up through the week, it will be a lot easier to make sure I document the trip.
The house we are staying in is on the golf course.......here's a few photos from the back deck:
beautiful flowers everywhere |
that's a bull elk...and a golfer walking by without a care in the world |
Have a great trip!
