Monthly Update

Cooper is 11 months old!!!

Little brother is changing so fast these days.

Weight: 18lbs 6 oz
Height: 29"

He crawls, he waves, he pulls up to standing in his crib, the bath tub, and Duke's dog bowls (which we can't keep him out of). Months ago, I thought there was no chance this baby would be walking by a year old.....now, I'm giving him a chance. He's not in hurry to reach milestones, until he decides he wants to do something and it happens overnight.

Cooper has also decided that he no longer likes pureed foods and will hardly eat any. Instead, he'll have whatever you're having. Chicken, hot dogs, green beans, macaroni, corn, cheerios, bread, pasta.....all things he's had this week. I've never seen him turn his nose up. He also LOVES yogurt melts and goes through them like crazy. He also likes to drink from straws. We're also working on sippy cups.

I've started preparing for his big birthday party this week. Slow down time.

Our dear Griffin Tanner is 4 years old!!!!!!!

I can't believe how life with him continually becomes more fun.

I added a sweet saying about how fast children grow up to the back of Cooper's birthday party invitation. I've been thinking about how it really applies to Griffin lately, as his little face grows more mature each day. I find myself staring at his features, and imagining him as an adult.

He got a very good report from his doctor at his annual well child appointment. It was funny to watch him listen and follow each command. "Breathe in like this!" "Now breathe out" "Let your leg hang down, I'm going to check your reflexes" "Walk in a line toward the door". It was like a game and he was very eager to do each thing.

Height: 3 ft 4 1/4 in
Weight: 38 lbs
Blood pressure: 104/60
Pulse: 88

Likes: his new ride-on tractor, swimming, singing songs, Cooper and assisting him in any way, cruising YouTube

Dislikes: naps on the weekend, going to bed most nights, getting woke up early for daycare....see the correlation??

Favorite movies: All About John Deere, Robots, Open Season

Favorite books: Let's Go to the Fire Station, Tractor Mac, Little Blue Truck, and a fire & rescue magazine Uncle Brent gave him

Favorite foods: "chicken & rice" from the chinese restaurant, hot dogs STILL, white milk (NOT chocolate), spaghetti, cucumbers in vinegar

9 Month Stats

Griffin had his 9 month well visit yesterday. It was pushed back (we are almost to 10 months) so that the doctor could check his ears again. Unfortunately, he found that they were both infected. To add to the bad news.....his nasty eyes that have been "glued" shut a couple mornings this week are not due to allergies but an eye infection. He is a tough little guy.

Weight: 19lbs 11oz -- 29th percentile
Height: 29" -- 68th percentile
Head Circumference: 46 cm or 18.1 in -- 65th percentile
Diapers: Size 3
Clothing Size: 9 months, but some 12 month
Teeth: still just 2

We have been busy, busy lately and it may just get worse with the weather getting warmer. Griffin is very mobile and when he is not crawling somewhere at the speed of light he is standing. We are past due on "baby proofing" the house. Here are a few shots taken recently.

what did you say? I'm getting too heavy for this thing?

Bring on the warm weather.....

We've had an exciting week. Our highest temperature yet was taken, coming in at 103.1 degrees. That prompted a trip to the doctor's office and the result......add a double ear infection to the pneumonia we are fighting! I guess our pediatrician decided we weren't messing around anymore; Griffin is on so much medicine (including breathing treatments for the first time) that he is wound for sound! It's nearly impossible to get him to take a nap. He would rather work up a sweat jumping in the exersaucer/screaming/breathing fast/shaking when grabbing something. I'm blaming it on the steroids. We have a follow up tomorrow morning.

Tooth #2 is coming in and about to catch up with #1. This is my best attempt at a photo of them both:

Griffin has also decided he needs to try to stand up at all times. I caught him standing in his crib one day when he was supposed to be taking a nap. It's no longer safe to put him in the crib and expect him to lay there. When he is quiet he is plotting and planning a way out, or at least a way to get up and then slip and fall hitting his face somewhere on the way down.

Hold still Aunt Tammy, I'm trying to stand up

He is also learning how to make the kiss sound. Or picking up on it I guess, since I haven't really tried to teach him. I guess he just hears it so much that he's figured out how to do it himself. It's quite funny to get in these "kissing wars" with him where you take turns making the sound.

It seems there is always something new and exciting happening!
