Griffin is 6!!

Griffin Tanner is quite a little man. He takes tasks so seriously but he's a total crackup at the same time. He's the perfect firstborn child and I'm so thankful that he's mine. He's independent, smart, determined, and he always has his little brother's back. I know he  has big things in his future!

I flew in from California on his birthday and was home right around the time I would normally get off work. We surprised him with a special Power Rangers cake and gifts. 

Each year Griffin gets to pick what kind of birthday party he wants to have, and he has always chosen it quickly. This year's theme request was instant: "a soldier party". That was definitely doable. Drew made an obstacle course in the backyard for the kids and we had a sprinkler going with a water balloon fight to conclude the party. Griffin loved it.

The one small glimpse of hot weather and no rain that we had this summer came right around the time of the party as you can see by our scorched grass. We still shot off parachutes I had bought around the 4th and let the kids catch them. Only 1 burn reported, yikes.
